On April 7, Lakewood voters will decide whether to repeal four zoning ordinances that City Council passed after two years of community input. The ballot questions, if passed, would:

• Roll back affordable housing options like duplexes and townhomes that young families, seniors, and essential workers need
• Eliminate sustainability incentives for energy- and water-efficient buildings and remove protections for parks and open space
• Undermine Lakewood's own housing affordability and environmental goals

On February 10 2025, Lakewood City Council will be hosting a public hearing regarding a new ordinance that is making it nearly impossible to build affordable housing.

The ordinance as it stands:

• Makes it nearly impossible for affordable housing developers to make their projects financially viable
• Prevents multifamily building, which is 70% more energy and water efficient than single-family homes
• Is in conflict with the city's housing and equity goals

On November 11, 2024, the Network voted to endorse the Jeffco Housing Blueprint, a multi-jurisdictional plan to increase housing across the county.

On November 5, 2024, Wheat Ridge voters have an historic opportunity to impact how new housing and community amenities will be built on the former Lutheran hospital campus.

By voting YES on 2C:

• The maximum height for homes near existing neighborhoods will be lowered to 2.5 stories
• The maximum height for buildings in the interior of the campus (near the existing 9-story building) will be limited to 5 stories
• Community amenities, such as open public spaces and civic uses, will be possible

Without imposing a tax or mill levy rate increase, the County will be allowed to hold on to revenue it collects beyond existing TABOR limitations.

By voting YES on 1A:

• The County will have more funding for infrastructure, such as affordable housing
• The County could apply for grants through the state's Affordable Housing Fund (but if 1A doesn't pass, these grants could push the County over its TABOR limits; it would have to cut in other areas or say no to this funding for afforable housing)
